Beach Club Fitness Center
Located at Hacienda Pinilla Costa Rica, the new oceanfront fitness center is located on the Beach Club’s second floor and offers the perfect view to serve as a backdrop to your workout: Listen to the crashing waves, watch the surfers, and enjoy the ebb and flow of the tide, as ocean breezes cool you down.
The fitness center offers cardio equipment, weights, and other equipment, including balls and mats, plus yoga, Zumba, and other fitness classes.

This world-class, 18-hole course was designed by respected architect Mike Young, and was created to honor its surroundings and follow the natural curvature of the land. The result is a beautiful and tropical golf course that meanders through forests and over greens, up hills and along sandy Pacific coastline.
The golf course at Hacienda Pinilla Costa Rica offers up to 7200 yards of par-72 play, and has earned its environmental designation as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary that preserves ecological balance. As you swing and putt, keep an eye out for all the wildlife that make their home here, including coyotes and deer, birds and small wildcats. Be warned that the course can get wild: there are a few not-so-urban legends that tell of surprise green visits from local crocodiles. How’s that for a challenge?

Private Hiking & Mountain Biking Trails

Meandering through scenic routes, over natural challenges, and along rigorous tracks, Hacienda Pinilla’s mountain bike trail system promises exhilaration, adventure, and at least a bit of challenge for every kind of rider.
The trail system wends and winds through 45 kilometers of forest, coastline, and traditional cattle ranch, inviting bikers and the most intrepid hikers to discover the backroads of Guanacaste. It’s both spectacularly beautiful and wildly secluded, as you can often ride as if you had the trails to yourself. Treat yourself to natural landscapes, greater endurance, and one of our region’s best-kept secrets.
Don’t have the confidence (or the gear)? We offer a guided two-hour mountain bike tour through Hacienda Pinilla’s pasture land and forest, over wooden bridges and down the sands. You can customize your tour based on the level of difficulty, and you can even extend your time on the trails if what you seek is a hardcore challenge. Playa Avellanas

They come in from both the north turn and southern hemispheres, creating waves that can eclipse 18 feet during certain seasons. In addition to its pilgrimage-worthy surf conditions, the beach also offers some of the area’s softest sands, exotic shells, and most brilliant turquoise waters – the perfect setting for a cold drink or refuel at Lola’s restaurant.
Playa Langosta

While Hacienda Pinilla doesn’t officially bill itself as a surfing community, surfing is definitely a part of this community. Home to some of the best surfing beaches in Costa Rica and the world, Hacienda Pinilla and its surroundings offer myriad opportunities for beginner and expert surfers alike.
Due to its privileged location on the Pacific Coast, Hacienda Pinilla offers prime conditions for all kinds of surf: The action is focused at Langosta Beach and Avellanas Beach, where you’ll find right and left point brakes, hollow waves, strong curls, and other conditions. Here’s where to hone your focus:
Playa Avellanas
Avellanas Beach offers three incredible surf opportunities: the first is “Little Hawaii,” which is located directly in front of the Hacienda Pinilla Beach Club, and where rights and lefts roll all day long.
Head a little bit south, and you’ll hit the river mouth, which delivers right and left point breaks that curl off the mouth of the estuary. If you’re looking for something a little tamer – warning: not that tame!—then you will enjoy the Avellanas Beach break, home to hollow rights and lefts.
Playa Langosta
A little to the north of Hacienda Pinilla Costa Rica, Playa Langosta offers a few additional and world-class surf spots: at the Langosta river mouth you’ll catch right and left point breaks, fueled by the estuary mouth. Or test your mettle at Langostas “Cape Town,” a right and left point break known for its hollow waves.
